HI everyone I need some advice/ expertise .

I am going to be taking an assignment in Modesto California, and I wanted to know about the area, and the best options for housing. If going with the company housing vs. taking the stipend, or just using an extended stay. I don't know anything about the area, so I would love information on monthly averages for prices, or tricks to the trade that I may not be aware of As I have never traveled to California for an assignment before. Please Help me out guys on what you know about the area if anything as far as best/ cheapest options on housing.

Modesto is in the Central Valley area of Northern CA, not the best city though, flat and boring.

If you know the hospital where you will be working, take the zipcode, check crime rate, as well as with housing if you take it.

Always, get local papers and read though about the city.

I'm originally from the Bay Area, CA- so yes I agree with the above poster, it's quite boring there. The rent in that area is quite cheaper than most places... you can get a 2 bedroom for less than $1000, which is cheap for CA. Other than that, I can't help ya much as I lived in a different part growing up. Most people only lived there for cheap housing :/ Good luck to you in, CA!! :)
