Have heard some of you guys talking about companies offering rental cars. Who are those companies?

Anybody hear of a company offering a $5000.00 sign on bonus? My sister ran into somebody who's daughter had a position in CA. Is this fact or fiction?

Finally found this site:)

Maybe I can finally get an answer from you knowledgable people! Who pays this sign/ completion on bonus? The hospital or the travel company? DOes this bonus always equate with a lesser pay rate? I always have the feeliing it is such a secret where the money comes from and the travel companies perpetrate the secrecy! Why would the nurse turn down the bonus, it was still extra free money right?

(sunglass icon because I am on assignment in Naples Fla)

Once I received a $12,000 bonus for 6 months. They were desparate for nurses. Did it twice as well....but had to take the bonus after the 6 months were completed, so was taxed a lot....but it was still nice! Of course, this was not a company bonus but a hospital bonus, and there were restrictions....you couldn't miss a day, call in sick, go home early, come in late, etc etc etc.

OA has been highly recommended to me. They have contacted me a few times and are very nice. They do not handle myspeciality, however.

Everytime I travel from home I fly to the assignment and get the rental car with On assignment. My car is 6 years old and paid off. Traveling from coast to coast I would have to buy a new one, and I like not having a car payment. When I work with in 2 hours of home i use my car and take the $20/day option. On Assignment insures the car through the company insurance , so that is nice, but I make sure my personal insurance has a business rental car coverage w/ collison option on it ( most insurance companies only cover the rental car if it is for vacation purposes, NOT business) just in case, especially in California. I do love the insurance with them and it is the best I have recieved from any company.

My next contract however is with World Health, who do have the hosuing and rental car like OA does but don't insure the rental car and have Great West for health insurance, with I dislike alot. Plus I don't think they have short term disablitity, so I will probably only work 1 contract for them.

not to sound stupid what does oA stand for?
