BEEBE Hospital - Any info greatly appreciated

by Sandy*B

Does anyone have any information about working at Beebe Hospital in Lewes? I am a travel nurse currently deciding on my next contract and there are a few openings at Beebe.

If you can share any info regarding the area(s) and the cost of real estate that would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

What would you like to know about Beebe? I finished a contract there earlier this year, thought it was okay. It's a really small hospital, kind of outdated, but the staff is friendly.Ratios are high: 7:1 on ortho/ms, and 6:1 on pcu. Pt rooms are in pods. They use paper charting, acudose rather than pyxis, and have a good group of hospitalists. Pcu has a unit clerk and monitor tech, along with a charge nurse who does not take an assignment, helps everyone out. If i remember correctly, I had a week of classroom orientation, then 1 shift on each of the 3 units i was supposed to work on.
I was housed in a 4br beach house 2 blocks from the shore, and 1 mile from the hospital. Have no idea what real estate costs are out there, but can tell you that it is a beautiful, quaint little town; some of those places were just amazing! There are a lot of cute little shops, restaurants in Lewes, too. There's also an outlet mall nearby.
I hope this helps. What else could I tell you?

Hi Fawn222RN, thank you for your reply. I am a cardiac OR nurse and I see that BeeBe has an opening for a travel nurse. Do you know anything about the OR or their cardiac program?

So far I love what you are telling me! Did you have to share the 4 bedroom house with other travlers? If not, what agency are you with as I may place my resume with them.

Also, if I accept the position then I would be on call and expected to come to work in the middle of the night. Is it a safe area?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sandy*B! I am also a CVOR nurse and am looking to travel very soon. I don't know how to work the PM thing but I was wondering if you have been traveling long and how it works for the OR and if you have any cool places you have gone. Also, who do you work with? I can't decide on a company. It seems some companies have more CVOR positions than others. Anyway, any info or help would be greatly apprecited! Thanks so much!

Hi,
I don't know anything about Beebe's cardiac OR program . The hospital is in a safe area, just in case you do get called in. As far as the house, I was alone there, had more space than i knew what to do with! And it was completely furnished. I travel through O'grady-Peyton, which has actually started using the name of the parent company- American Mobile. Pm me for my recruiter's name if you want. Good luck!
