I have been researching travel companies, I viewed the CrossCountry travel website, the photos of the apartments that they use to house travellers look amazing. Is this the case or do you end getting there and find out you are stuck in a crime ridden slum?

I've been with CrossCountryTravCorps for 7 yrs. now and have been, in general, quite pleased with my housing. It varies widely with the area, of course. I'm currently staying in an apartment complex that looks like something out of the ads - 2 bdrms.(no one bdrm avail. so they gave me a 2 - no charge), fireplace, pool, spa, gym, clubhouse, etc. I have been in some that were very basic - your typical 1 bdrm, no amenities, etc., but on looking around the area, found there wasn't much more available there. I've been in houses (including an incredible old Victorian house in a beach town), government housing on a reservation (very basic housing), etc. The one place that I was placed that was unacceptable (because of size, not danger) was replaced by Monday mornig after my Friday afternoon call. I do give my housing co-ordinator some help in that I am willing to take somewhat of a commute if it leads to significantly upgraded housing.

My only complaint is that they haven't been able to make me look like those models in their ads!
