Hello fellow travelers. Being that I am a LN who travels and am trying a different way to get my RN while I traveled. I wanted to ask are there any excelsior graduates who travel? I haven't met any so far and just wanted to see if my 1 year plan will work with going thru excelsior.

Excelsior grad here... Been traveling on/off for about 7 years. ED/ICU, with no problems

Citimedic where did you receive your license? What places have you been?

Original license was in sc. Been to every state between ct and fl on the eastern seaboard, and cali.

@citimedic if excelsior grads can't be endorsed in Cali how did you work there? Did you become endorsed before they made these strict rules?

Yes, it was before. However, I know plenty of people who became licensed after. It is on a case by case basis, depending mainly on experience.

Specializes in NP. Former flight, CCU, ED RN and paramedic..

I did Excelsior when it was Regents, in 1999. I've been travelling on and off for 14 years, just finished an assignment in California. I was originally licensed in Arizona, and now hold a compact license. No issues for me.

To clarify: lost cause for getting a CA license/endorsement at this time.

Not true for me, I got licensed there about four years ago.

I am also an Excelsior grad currently traveling. I have had no problems with licensure in any state and while I have not traveled to CA personally I have a friend who is also an Excelsior grad who has been traveling to CA for years.
