I'm applying to Methodist, Baptist (North Central), and Christus Santa Rosa for a GN position. If anyone has any tips or suggestions for which is best please let me know! I'd also like to know if they all pay about the same. Thanks!

Go with Santa Rosa!! They have a great program for new grads. They have a variety of facilities, including a Children's hospital & are opening a brand new one in the Spring.

Methodist has been laying off nurses in their Med Center facility.

I will graduate in December and I've already accepted a position at Christus! Their new grad program looks fantasitc...18 weeks orientation for adult, 22 weeks for peds. Everybody I saw seemed happy to be working there.

curliegirl,

Wonderful! I am so glad you chose us - I am with CHRISTUS in Houston. I am sure you will love it there.

I worked as a unit secretary/nurse aide at Southwest Texas Methodist from 1998-2003 and I loved it. Of course, it might've been just the great staff I worked with on the GYN unit, or the fact that I worked mainly 7p-7am, but I have nothing but good memories of the place. i still have some good friends who are nurses there and they still enjoy it.
