Hey All!! I decided to make a thread for spring 2012. I was jumping aroung to the fall 2011 applicants and fall 2012 applicants. So I made one for the coming up app period to avoid alot of double posting.

I have heard from some of the spring 2012 applicants but am surprised I have not encountered more.

Where are yall hiding? :)

Wow that sounds so amazing!!! I've never been out of texas so hopefully I will be able to have a nice vaca after my first years as an RN! :)

Carrie - I only had 16 points as well. Karen Long told me that my app looked good compared to many others she had seen. I am very discouraged reading this thread with everyone saying that it won't be enough. I mean I knew that it might not be, but she had kinda gotten my hopes up.

Welcome Carly. It is nice to see someone new on here. Second, don't get down. Stay positive. I think there is no way to tell this semester. That test was hard and I think it surpised a lot of people. There is hope for everyone!!! When did you turn in your application and talk to Karen? I wonder if they would tell us how many people applied this time around? Good luck to all of us!!

Carly, don't get discouraged I am sorry, i guess i sounded negative. I just don't want to get my hopes up. Maybe we will at least make the alternate which would be a great thing also!!

Welcome Carly!! Keep that chin up girl! It's all a matter of time before we know. A friend of mine who is an RN was reassuring me once about the hectic process of taking classes, applying etc... she said " relax girl, besides, in the big picture what's six more months?? If you have to reapply and retake some classes then you do. Everything will happen the way it should"

that was some great advice. I'm in a reapply/retake situation with TWU because I just don't think I have the grades this time around, but we'll see!!

Welcome Carly. Don't get down. I am taking that advice also. This has already been an emotional roller coaster so I am going to just chill. I have read so many things about scores and such that I am thinking that all bets are off. The Teas V was hard and scores were lower than previous years and that means the points are down. It won't be the same as previous selections since those tests were easier. I think we should know in about 6 weeks or so. Crossing fingers!

I know. Another week down. I really think we will know about the same time that the students were notified last fall, around the 16th of Sept. I wish she would send out periodic emails just to let us know that all info is being processed, like did I forget anything? do I need to clarify anything?

But remember, I am not stressing this, lol.:nurse:

Good evening nursing applicants (and future students). How are things going for you? We are slowly but surely working towards the mailbox day. Just think, it has already been like 25 days since the application period ended. That sounds so much longer than it has felt. Are any of you taking classes in the fall? I am taking stats and chem and tech writing. I have decided to continue taking classes for my pre-reqs for other programs so I have plan b,c,d, etc....

Just think, if we find out when the applicants found out last year then we only have 23 days left! Hopefully on 9/16/11 we will know something! Woohoo

I am taking classes in the fall: Intro to Theatre, sociology: drugs in society, and nutrition. I decided to take these that way i can do the RN to BSN transition when i finish nursing school and all my prereqs for that will be done. i am going to take chemistry in the Spring if i con't get into nursing program but I want to take the chemistry somewhere other than WC because they don't have a strong instructor.

I was hoping for the first of September letters, i was thinking that since the deadline for Fall apps was 2-28 and people were notified the 1-2 of April maybe that would happen again. Either way, hopefully only a few more weeks before notification. I did send Karen an email asking how the points were looking and she only told me they were working on it.
