Has anyone else applied for Fall 2010? Im anxious to hear if I got in!

Hi, Im applying to wc for fall 2010, but not the lvn to rn. But I figured I would reply because there doesn't seem to be anyone left who is applying. (I would say thats good news, lol) But anyway, how was the application process for you, was there a point system that was able to determine where you stand?

Yeah my points werent so high, like 15. I dont know if I added them up right, I got an 80 on the teas and my gpa wasnt that great but oh well I just applied to see if I would get in, if not I am going to do the excelsior program. Do you think you got in? At least we will know in a couple of weeks!!:)

It maybe different because you are an LVN, I'm not sure where you are located but JPS in Fort Worth has a program with UTA, where you could get your BSN in as little as 15 months.

I applied with 22 points but she said that the application period isnt over until the end of Feb, and letters wont go out until mid to late march. So I have a long wait.

I will have to look into that. We are actually in WA state, my husband is in the Navy, we just got orders to fort worth and we'll be there in march. We're originally from austin, so we are happy to be back in tx. Is there a lot of pre-reqs? It just seems so competitive in dallas/ft worth for nursing schools.

There are alot of pre-reqs, but you will be getting your bsn, the only good thing is they offer the pre-req classes online and they are 8 to 16 week classes. I preferred to go to that program but I couldn't get hired on, but since you are a LVN you have a better chance of getting hired. Here is the link http://stateu.com/uta/nur_bsn.asp

Hey just thought I would let you know, I talked to a rep from that UTA program, he said you dont have to be hired with JPS. He said it is for anyone, but you have to do your clinicals with an affiliated hospital. Also, they have no waiting list, u just have to finish all the general ed courses which are 5 weeks each. It sounds pretty good but it is kind of expensive.

Thanks I got an email and I was curious about that too. I think I might go for that then, Im going to finish up all my courses and apply.

I know the application period has ended, so when will you know if you got in?

For Weatherford? They said mid to end of February, if i dont get in I am doing the UTA one but i have 10 more pre-reqs plus the pre-nursing classes still to take to aply for the spring 2011. What are you doing?

Oh ok, well good luck. Im hoping I will get into Weatherford this fall, but I wont know until the end of March :( But If I dont get it I will try to go to UTA, I have 4 pre-reqs plus the pre-nursing courses to complete. So I have a lonnnnngggg wait.
