Hep series takes 6 months right? it needs to be completed before we start? I have had first one already....did titers for everything else....rubella came up as not immune...argh...so now i have to track down a rubella vaccine. I went ahead and got menengitis shot even though I'm over 30....not sure if I still had to have it. So if I have a green circle, I wont get a transcript eval right? That all is good?
Yep, 6 months. I think I remember reading that it's alright if you only have the first 2 vaccines complete (perhaps someone could verify this?) The immunization form says "Three-dose series (second dose one month and third dose six months after first dose) or lab report of positive hepatitis surface antibody titer. Must be vaccinated to most current status possible prior to registering for classes."

    Hello!

I am applying for the 2013 BSN Accelerated program. My stats are as follows:

    Overall: 3.0
    Science: 3.0
    Pre-req: 3.1

    Also:
    1. Is there a certain amount of time you have to let pass before you can retake the HESI?

I plan on retaking the HESI A2. I want to blow it out of the park. Although with my current grade point averages in mind, do you think if I were to get at least a 90% on each section of the HESI I would still be considered? Thank you for yalls time! Any suggestions will be more than helpful!

I am also applying for the accelerated program. It is hard to tell what they are looking for. I have heard of people getting in with the minimum GPA of 2.75 compared to others with 4.0 who didn't get in. Guess we will never know till we try. Best of luck to you!

Thank you peaches1018 for your reply! Do you know by chance what the person with the 2.75 had to offer in addition to their GPA? I know you said its to find what they are looking for, but I thought I would ask. Haha hope you have a good night!

I honestly don't know. It just something I was told. I also read it on other postings from previous application cycles too.

So for the hep b vaccine do we have to have the full set done or can we start it now and finish in 6 months?

Okay so i texted my friend who is in the program now (regarding the hep b vaccines) and he said " You don't need to start hepB until like december. You should ideally have your second shot of the series by the time you start clinicals at the end of january. 2nd dose is 30 days after first." but he recommends you do it now

For those of you who are in the same boat as me with the infinite "yellow triangle" because of pre-reqs, do you know if it will ever change? I mean in terms of if we DO get accepted, will it change to a green check? Or will we just have to wait for a physical letter?

Some applicants statuses won't change from a yellow triangle until the decisions are made by the SON. From what I understand, your status should still change to a green check if you're accepted or a red circle if you're denied.

However, if you end up on the waitlist, you'll still have a yellow triangle. So your status may change to waitlisted, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the myUTH website. In this case, you'd have to wait for an actual letter from the SON.

    1) No, you should be able to retake the test whenever. Just be aware that you can only retake the HESI once.
    2) The SON considers an 84% competitive, so if you score a 90% then you would certainly be considered. Whether or not certain sections or the test are weighted higher than others is the mystery... none of us knows exactly what the school is looking for. Just do your best and then try not to worry. Good luck.
