Has anyone applied to UHV Second Degree BSN program for Spring 2012?

I also received my interview invite yesterday via email! Congrats to everyone & hope to see everyone there!

This is my first time to this website and this is so helpful! Thanks for all of the information. I do have one question regarding the interview and essay. Anymore details that you guys could share would be great. Thanks I'm just super nervous!

Congrats to everyone! I know you are all so excited about the upcoming interview, but please know that the stress that leads up to it is way worse than the actual interview! :monkeydance: There are going to be so many of us at the interview to help and support you that they are actually making us take shifts throughout the day because there are too many of us who want to help! You should feel confident that you got this far, and the odds are in your favor if you have made it to this point!

The whole email thing can be confusing, and last year, they gave us our ID numbers a long time before the actual interview. We got the numbers via the UHV email, and that is one place that they love to send things through. Just have all of your ducks in a row, come to the interview dressed appropriately, and be yourself. I will be completely honest when I say that they are looking for people that are honest to themselves and people who have good values. They need a group who can work together for an entire year, and part of doing that is being open to ideas and being willing to be a leader sometimes, and be a follower sometimes. We spend hours upon hours a day with each other, so they are looking for people who are honest and who honestly want to be nurses. :nurse:

I'm so glad that everyone got an invitation, and we look forward to meeting all of you at the interview. Again, if you have questions, feel free to ask away.

(I don't think we are allowed to talk about the essay part of the interview. We may get into trouble for talking about it or talking about the topic last year. I can say that it was very simple. It is my personal opinion that they don't necessarily want to see if you can write a lengthy essay, but that you can understand instructions, and work the computer enough to follow the instructions.)

I'm new to this forum but recieved an invitation as well. I know it's an odd question...but what will you all wear to the interview? A suit? Just curious.

Did anyone receive a second email following the intial "invite for interview" regarding steps to take when filling out the ApplyTexas application? I'm curious as to what was in it. I didn't get it.

here was the second email i recieved:

many of you have had questions regarding the application to uhv or the fast pass form. the fast pass form will be posted on our uhv nursing website, [color=#234786]www.uhv.edu/nursing, under resources starting wednesday, november 2, 2011. once the form is posted, please fill it out and bring with you to the interview.

when applying to uhv, it will take 24-48 hours to generate and then you will receive an email from uhv with your student id number. once you have your student id number, you will be able to set up your uhv email account. please follow the steps below when setting up your uhv email account:

- create new application

- select uhv

- select transfer undergraduate

- select 4 year university

- select spring 2012 semester

- select school of nursing

- select nursing major

please do not submit your transcripts to uhv. we have your transcripts through nursingcas and we can access your nursingcas account if we need to.

please contact student solutions if you have any questions regarding setting up your uhv email accounts or applying to uhv. their number is 361-573-0000 (victoria area) or toll free 1-800-687-3738 (outside victoria).

Last year, I wore a skirt suit. There were a lot of people there in business suits, and there were a lot of people there in very nice slacks and a very nice shirts. All of the men wore business suits. My advice to anyone would be to dress as if you were going to a professional job interview. Bring something to write on/with, and dress to impress. :up:
