I took the BLS for Healthcare Providers :) $55.00 through a great place here in Katy (AHA)

Thank you Heathererin2181 for reply. I booked BLS for Healthcare Providers from AHA too. Can you briefly describe how is the training? Any test?

I got the answer:

Question: Where can I obtain my CPR? Is there a specific CPR required?

Answer: You may obtain your CPR certification at any healthcare facility. Hospital requirements for clinical rotations require that you be CPR certified. Only American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross (ARC) Health Care Provider CPR verification will be accepted. You must take the healthcare provider class for BLS (CPR and AED) program.

We do not accept any online CPR certifications!

The class I took was really fun. I was a medic in the Air Force for almost 10 years and I was our base CPR instructor trainer...so with that being said, this class was more of a refresher and very easy. There is a test you will take after completing the class. Make sure you pay attention to the compression to ventilation ratio. They repeat it over and over and this is for a reason. Our test consisted of 25 questions...I got a 100 (pretty easy as long as you pay attention to the rates and steps repeated over and over in the video lol). You will have to show the instructor you can do the compressions for an infant, child, and adult. They will also have you show them you can use an AED as well. Everything that is on the test is on the video so don't worry...you will do great. :)

Oh I forgot to mention that you get to practice with the mannequins during the video so you can become familiar with it and get it down before being evaluated by the instructor :)

Hey everyone! I logged on the identigo web site today and was able to schedule an appointment for the background check. So double check to see if you all can too.

For the TB - I heard back from the school and she said that we should complete the TB test in December as the Certified Profile states. This still seems a little conflicting with the deadlines, but maybe they will explain more about it on Oct. 10.

Quick question -- Have you all submitted the Student Declaration form already even though there is a line in the paragraph stating that you "attest that I have completed a criminal background check and drug screen"? The deadline is coming up on Friday, but I've been holding back from submitting it until this identigo was completed.

I emailed my forms in, the acceptance form and the declaration form too. Did anybody else email them in yet? Do they email back or anything to acknowledge that they received them?

I was able to schedule my fingerprints this past Sunday, but there was not anything open until 9/30 (near me). I did submit the acceptance form and declaration. I did not get confirmation via email, but I happened to be on the phone with them and she asked if I turned it in. I told her I emailed them and she confirmed she got them.

Any one sent out the petition form to the Texas Board of Nursing?

How much is the petition fee? I can not find out the fee from the petition form instruction.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ...I called the Texas BON this morning and they confirmed that we only need to submit the petition IF you have ever been arrested, had psych issues (which they lost on the form) etc. Basically it allows you to explain and submit information regarding the issues so they can investigate whether or not it will hold up your license. I called UHV and she confirmed this. I had already sent my petition out even though I now know I didn't need to so I have to write a letter telling them the form was submitted in error. I hope this saves some of you the trouble and for any of you who have sent it out you will need to send them the same letter as I have to. Chelsea misunderstood what I was asking her about the petition last week...she thought I was talking about the fingerprints. I told her I was informing everyone via FB.

I just mailed the letter requesting they disregard the petition application (lady at tbon instructed me to do so). It will all come together lol
