Texas Children's New Grad program

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone, I just wanted to see if anyone has more detailed info on their program and requirements for application. I've been searching their website and for a while now to see if I somehow missed a link or the information and I haven't had much luck. It was very clear on the Memorial Hermann and Houston Methodist sites, so I was expecting a similar layout. I've also searched this forum and i've only gathered that it's very difficult to get into/opens in April - Still hopeful!

I'm extremely interested in this program and am looking forward to any information you may have! Thank you!

I wonder if there's another thread for this. It's like we are the only 2 who applied and are members of allnurses aha

Congratulations on getting a job at TCH! I will be graduating in May 2015 and am extremely interested in applying to the nurse residency at TCH beginning this summer. I have not been very successful in finding more information about the program, including application dates. Do you mind me asking where/how you found more information? ANY information and/or other helpful hints would be awesome. Thanks so much!

Look in March for the summer opening. It was there under the nursing tab when I applied to mine. But when its not opened you really won't see anything on the program AT ALL. I can help you look around that time if you want as well.

That would be awesome, thank you so much! Did you have any prior experience with TCH before applying (such as PCT/extern/preceptorship)?

I just did my clinical for peds there. When you do your clinicals at a hospital here you're in the system. I've had interviews at all of the hospitals that I've had clinicals at.

So if you're in Houston try to make nice wih your schools clinical coordinator and choose the top sites you're interested in for your rotations.

CONGRATS!!! That's so exciting, very happy for you!

I accepted a new grad position at TCH, as well. cvicu.
