Hey everyone,

I am a recent new grad (May2013) and I have interviews at a few children's hospitals, one of which is for the NICU @ Texas Children's. Is there anyone else who is interviewing for this program?

It seems like this is an amazing hospital from what I have read about it and I am excited for the opportunity. I don't know anything about living there being from California. Does anyone have recommendations about where is the best place to love near Houston?

I would also like to know if anyone has any suggestions regarding the interview process. What its like, how many interviews, and what to expect. Thank you for your help and good luck to anyone who is applying also.

My nursing experience there is ancient, and not as an RN. However, in 1992 as a new LVN grad I worked there. I did about two weeks of classroom orientation, med administration exam, etc. I was then paired with a preceptor for 12 weeks. It had the potential of being awesome, except my preceptor... wasn't. She was rather sarcastic, catty, gossipy, and did not give me any feedback on how I was doing. That said, I made it after approaching my manager, nearly ready to quit. She informed me I was doing great so I stayed on nearly two years. Many years later, we went through the Level 2 nursery with my 33 week son. Amazing place. I have taken my own children there for MRI's and one outpatient surgery. I would only want my kids at TCH if they had anything serious going on.

I recently had an interview with TCH for their graduate nurse program. Have you heard anything back yet?

My job submission says its inactive? Does that mean I am no longer considered? I applied back in November.

Also anyone work there currently? Will like more details about Children's Medical because I will be relocating to and not familiar with Texas at all.
