U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello all, sorry if this question has been asked before, but I have had no luck getting a hold of some one from the Texas BON...I graduated from lpn school in 2012, my mom passed away the end of the month I graduated, very unexpected and I became the primary caregiver of my autist/mentality disabile nephew, so my test got pushed aside, does anyone know how many yrs you have to take your lpnnclex test in the state of Texas? Any replies Or info would be greatly appreciated..

From the TX BON Frequently Asked Questions - Education page:

How many times can I take the NCLEX Exam?

The exam can be taken every 45 days for a four year period of time. This is governed by Rule 217.2 which states in part:

© An applicant for initial licensure by examination shall pass the NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN within four years of completion of requirements for graduation.

(d) An applicant who has not passed the NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN within four years from the date of completion of requirements for graduation must complete a board approved nursing education program in order to take or retake the examination.
