Moving to Austin in November.

U.S.A. Texas

My fiance and I are getting married in September and then are moving to Austin in early November if everything goes as planned. He got a really good job opportunity though his uncle and of course me being an RN can work anywhere haha. We are not really familiar with the area and need some reccomendations for some areas to look for a home are. We will both be 23, no kids, 2 big dogs and not a whole lot of stuff! We aren't really into the bar scene. We like a place that's not in the 'big city' but still close enough that we won't have to drive an hour to work everyday. We would like an area that has a safe reputation, as we would like to start a family within the next few years and we will probably be there for a long time. We aren't too picky, just looking for nicer areas with some shopping and dining which I hear Austin has quite a few of. Any suggestions for places to look would be great!

Look into Roundrock or New Braunfels or San Marcos.

I lived in Round Rock for a while and really liked it. I don't know how it is now but the Round Rock school system was really good when we lived there.

We just moved to Austin two years ago from new Orleans and the area is definitely young and growing. Since you are considering a family in the future do some research on the areas that has the best schools.

Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander all have pretty good schools and good prices on real estate. Lotsa homes for rent too.

Whole area had been growing too fast but with the recession things are becoming more leveled and reasonable.
