U.S.A. Texas

Hey you guys I have a friend that moving to TX. She's looking at working at a hospital.....Was wondering if you TX's nurses could give me an idea on what she's looking at as far as pay wise?

Specializes in AA&I, research, peds, radiation oncology.

Not sure of all hospitals, but Baylor Health Systems and UTSouthwestern Medical Center are not hiring LVN's. And the seasoned LVN's that are there must go back for their RN. This is true in other states, not just Texas!!:(

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Smaller rehab hospitals (Healthsouth, Lifecare, Kindred) will pay an LVN about $18 hourly for day shift, and $22 to $23 hourly for night shift.

The major acute care hospitals in the DFW area generally do not hire many LVNs anymore. John Peter Smith Hospital paid my friend $18.25 hourly to work in one of their clinics. Arlington Memorial Hospital was paying one of my former coworkers $13.50 hourly to work on a med/surg unit.
