Corpus Christi Medical Center

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I was wondering if any new graduates had started out at Corpus Christi Medical Center and if they have enjoyed their experience? I have some family that lives over there and that would be one area I would consider locating if I were to be lucky enough to land a job. I looked at the hospital career site and there were many positions available that did not require experience...but I was wondering if it was difficult to land a job there as a new grad, and if you did land one, was the training appropriate? I currently live in CA and have landed one interview in CA, and one in NC....I am still waiting to hear back and am still applying but am also considering TX as an option as I do enjoy it there. Does anyone know of any other areas in TX that would consider new graduates and is less competitive than the bigger cities?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you are interested in Corpus Christi, I would advise you to look into the CHRISTUS Spohn hospital system. They are the major players in that area with 3 facilities in the city and 3 more in outlying areas. I know that they are new grad friendly and have a pretty comprehensive training process for new grads.

I am also looking into that area. Where in CA are you from? PM me. :)

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely look into that healthcare system. I take my NCLEX in CA this month, and if I pass I am going to apply for endorsement in TX right away if I don't get this position in CA. I figure that I'd have a better shot of getting hired if I waited to apply when I had my license.

Winter_Green-I sent you a PM earlier today...hope you received it!
