Hi all. I will be taking this in November prior to submitting my application for the class starting in Fall of 2009. I am wondering what to expect from the test. Is there math on it? At what level? Is it difficult? Timed? Is there a place where sample questions can be found and anything anyone can recommend in terms of preparation for the exam or studying in advance?

Thanks so much!

The test CCCCD uses is the PSB http://www.psbtests.com/. Most people find it pretty difficult mainly because of the time restriction. People rarely finish an entire section before time runs out. I am pretty sure I remember math being on it. Good luck on your exam!

I took it in January and got a 5/6 (didn't get the 6th point on the Reading Comprehension and I was soooo close...ugh!).

Anyway, I went through a workbook I actually got from the CCCC bookstore. It's the National League for Nursing Review Guide for RN Pre-Entrance Exam. It gives a pretty good math review (yes, there is some math).

One of the biggest things is there was quite a bit of Microbiology stuff on it. I had just finished Micro., so that was a HUGE plus.

There's NO WAY to review for the spelling. I had never even heard of half of the words and I am a pretty good speller.

The Reading Comprehension part is not really something to "study" but it wouldn't be a bad idea to do some trial runs of doing timed readings & then answering the questions.

Good luck!

What is the best way to prepare for this test, guys? I need t o take it soon but have no idea how to get start.
