Hi,

I have been accepted into the RN program at Grayson County College in Denison, TX. I am waiting to see if I get into North Central Texas College as well. I hear good things about both school. Just in case I had to choose between, I wanted to find out from other people how they felt about these two programs.

Thanks in advance for your time!

I got into Grayson with 23 points. This is the only place I applied and this was my first try to get in. We have "RN Camp" on Monday and Tuesday. I am excited, but I am extremely nervous about the start of school. I think I should stop reading all of these threads so late at night! I feel that I am getting prepared mentally, but in the same sense, I am so worried!

:balloons:Congratulations!!!!! I am so excited for you. And you all of have made me feel so much better. Luckily starting Fall 2008 they are giving 2 points for being a Grayson County resident, so if I just make a B in micro and A&P 2 then I will have 24 points and that is before adding in what I get for the HESI. I am thinking now that I will probably get in. And I am hoping for better than a B in my classes!!!!! I am going to be applying this spring for Fall 2008. Wish me luck.

And good luck with RN camp. After the camp come back here and tell me how it went. I want all the details you can give. I am just too excited to start, so since I can't start yet I will live vicariously through you! ;)

Who do you have for A&P 2 and Micro? Williams is the best A&P teacher you could possibly get. I had Dr. Daniels for Micro, but he is no longer at GCC. Just thought I would tell you that A&P 2 was so much easier for me than A&P1. I made A's. Plus, I loved Ms. Williams. Good Luck - next spring will get here before you know it!

Yes Williams is who I have for A&P2. I know how wonderful she is, I had her for Biology years ago and I just loved her! For Micro I have Butler, who as you probably know has been there forever, but she knows her stuff. I am really excited and can't wait to get started so I can get it over with.

Kita - you are one hilarious chickie! To be honest with you, as I told everyone else...camp was fun and informative, but seriously - the student panel was the best part of the whole 2 days. I mean, we got to listen to students that have already "been there - done that". It gave us a "real" insight into what we have ahead of us. I am diligently getting myself and my family ready for the enormous transition that we are all going to have to make this year. I can't wait - I am ready to take it all in - head on! Thanks for what GNSA did. It was really appreciated.:uhoh3:

I have to disagree with you. Grayson has one of the best reputations in the state. It is a grueling program, but when you're done, you're prepared. Clinicals weren't bad at all as we got to choose from many schedules.

IT's true that they weed a lot of students out in the first 2 semesters, but in my opinion most of them chose the wrong profession anyway.

As for 4th semester, we lost a few but hopefully they're trying again. As far as I know only 2 of our graduating class haven't passed boards yet.

Now that GCC got rid of the past director and replaced her with the current one, they're only going to get better.
