2018 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls - Spring

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey there!

I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.

I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.

In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone 2MzmrmldDUluFszY4BeNRUhFw8YnK8nLzkBNSYABAA==

Time is moving sooo sloww.... But i bet once were accepted time will fly by! Rofl!

Lets pass time!

What does everyone's work background look like? Families? Plans on work while in the Nursing Program??

Seriouslllyyyyyy. I work in the NICU at Memorial Hermann right now as a tech/pca and I love it. I definitely plan on still working since they are very flexible since they know I'm trying to go to school to be a nurse. Also so I can get tuition reimbursement! What about you?

I got an 88 on the hesi and so afraid to retake it. Were you?

Eh I really wasn't that afraid just because I remember where I was weak the first time taking it so I studied the crap out of that before taking it again. I only studied a couple days more though. I was more worried my brain would tap out from it being so long. Are you going to retake it? What areas were you weaker in?

Any one else obsessively checking their email to see if maybe just maybe they've already sent acceptance letters? This wait is killing me!!

lol I will after the deadline

That's an awesome job! I've been browsing around for a job that allows me to work flexible days. I'm an EMT so, I've been applying to ERs but the NICU sounds perfect too.

I am a medical assistant. Mother of an 8 year old. I will probably work half time IF able to while in the program.

The wait begins! So word on the street is that they are going to be merging Kingwood with North Harris so the program will be held at the HPB off Red Oak. I imagine they will begin sending letters in 2 weeks!!!

i applied for Kingwood as my first choice does anyone knows how they gonna choose the morning classes and evening classes, I mean i don't want the evening classes are they gonna ask you and let you choose ??

Do you know what the word on the street is on how many applicants there were? I'm so Nervous! D:

I don't but I've been meeting people left and right saying that they are applying for the Spring as well. It'll fly by. What's your score?

6.86. The B in AP II really has my score low. I'm just hoping to be an alternative at least then reapply in January. /:

What did you make in A&P I? I've read many forums and I've seen a lot of scores like yours get in after being an alternative.
