How is the scene in Chattanooga, TN with the hiring of New Grads? I was thinking of moving there next year, and I was just wondering. I know that UT is there. Does that make Chattanooga be flooded with New Grads?

Well I am an LPN, but I moved here in December, got my license mid February and had a job by the beginning of March. I actually had several offers, but I wasn't picky with where to work either. There are definiteley plenty of jobs here, you just have to look and be willing to take something that may not be your dream job at first.

That sounds reasonable enough;) Do you know anything about how it is for RN's?

From what I hear from the newer RN's, the hospitals are a bit more competitive and like to hire nurses who have at least one year experience.

Yes, UT Chattanooga is here, but it's not the main UT campus - that's in Knoxville. I have plenty of friends that already have their RN, BSN and were able to get jobs no problem! Only 1 friend has just her RN and she didn't have a problem either. She is working at Erlanger AND Erlanger is paying for her to get her BSN online through ETSU (Eastern TN State Univ.). Definitely worth looking into! Memorial Hospital and Parkridge are the other two main hospitals here.

Chattanooga is a GREAT town. There's always a ton to do and the scenery is like nothing else you can get in this area of the country. Good luck with your moving plans and feel free to message me if you have any additional questions about the area!
