Calling all southwest tn comm. College spring 2012 hopefuls!!!

I know it's a bit early, but I intend on applying for the evening/weekends program at SWTCC Spring 2012. I have a gpa of 2.75, 143 on nln, and an A in ap2 and B's in micro and ap1. Is there anyone on here that has been accepted to the program during a spring semester.. heard it's more competitive vs fall sem!!?? What are my chances???:uhoh3: Thanks

I'm wondering if anyone has received rejection letters yet. Based on last year, we might get phone calls on November 11th. I hear the letters go out before the calls. So much speculation on my part. Oh please let me get in!!!!

I also am waiting to hear about acceptance into the Spring 2012 class. I got a 138 on NLN...and have A's in the pre-rec's...with a 3.6. Composite score, from what I can calculate is 65.4, still wondering if it is enough. I took the NLN late...on Sept. 10 and was sick as a dog that day. There were many, many quality people in the test...many, many not STCC students...does anyone know if there is an acceptance policy for STCC's own students? Good Luck to all!:uhoh3:

@tres1208, I am also applying for Mid-South/Arkansas State too and Southwest but next year though. I plan to take the CNA course in the spring. Are you doing your CNA at Mid-South CC? Do you know how much it cost? I was also thinking of applying at Baptist didn't know they were that hard to get into. Knowing a lot of people that go to Baptist, I thought it would be a little easier. Do you know the reason that they denied you specifically?

Re Baptist, i just didn't make the cut which got even more exclusive as I was trying to get in. They recommended i retake an Art class I got a D in 15 years ago. There were probably more attractive applicants and I simply didn't make the cut. 10 years ago I might have had a better shot. I'm old.

The MSCC CNA course is around $800. The school is nice, the department personnel are very helpful. The time in the classroom is ......what you make of it. My section was kinda goofy. Hopeful clinicals will prepare me for what's ahead.

@ codyandmollymom I havent heard anything about SW students having priority, I doubt it though. I did hear that they decided yesterday on who is accepted, waitlisted, and denied. We should be notified one way or the other soon. Good Luck to everyone!!

Does anyone know the projected date for rejection/accepted letters?

I'm thinki

ng it has to be tomorrow. Any later would be cruel

I emailed Mary Vines not to long ago, and she said that we will not find anything out until the week after Thanksgiving. Yet, I'm still hoping to hear something tomorrow so I can enjoy my vacation.

Fellow Hopefuls...post if you hear anything! I'm beginning to watch the mail...hoping there's no letter from Southwest in the box. It is pitiful. Sorry to hear one of the hopeful's was treated badly by Baptist...they were okay to me, and I could have started in the fall....just couldn't figure out how to write the required check for tuition. Good luck...fingers crossed for all!

Hello peeps...A friend recommended this site to me as well. I am so excited. I don' think we are going to hear anything until after thanksgiving! Mary Vines emailed me..and we are all playing the waiting game...I will let anyone know if i hear something!!!! Peace out...hope to see some of you next semester!!

I really hope it is today, because it's normally on a Friday right before Thanksgiving. I will be so anxious if it's any later because there is so much to be done and prepare for before school starts. They did change the notification date on the website which now says December. http://southwest.tn.edu/catalog/11-12/programsStudy/alliedHealthNursDeadlinesDates.htm It used to say November when I looked at it back in the summer. So maybe they're waiting until the week after Thanksgiving, which would include the first week of December?

@lkathleen Who did you hear from that they had decided on who has been accepted, waitlisted, and denied? Is it a verifiable source?
