telephone triage

Specialties Triage

Published

I work in an oncology center with ambulatory patients receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy.Patients can leave voice mail for their primary nurse. We are trialling a new telephone documentation form which would eventually become a part of a pt's chart and permanent record. Are there any other cancer centers using a document to record patient calls and using them as part of the patients' chart?

I work in pediatrics not oncology but I am a

full time telephone triage nurse. We have

devised a system using pages of stickers. We

customized them to include date,name,dob,

parent name, telephone number. Top half has

chief complaint. Bottom half has response.

Then we pull the sticker off and put it in the chart on the most recent progress note.

All the info, Rx refill requests etc go into

the chart very easily. Would be glad to fax

you a copy of our and you could adapt it to

fit you needs if you like it. We created an

original and then run copies on the copier.

DSHRN, I too am a telephone triage but I work in a busy family practice with a large pediatric population. Some days when I am the only nurse, I will have 70 - 80 calls! I am very interested in your sticker system. Can you fax me a copy? . Thank you.

i, too, am a pediatric triage nurse, and member of a committee in the process of organizing our practice. our most recent task is the development of a qa standard. we would like not to reinvent the wheel, but have been unsuccessful in our search for an example. if anyone has one they would like to share or knows where i can can find one, we would appreciate it. thank you!

Any chance of getting a copy ? I appreciate it.

Thanks

I work in OB-Gyn telephone nursing, but would love a copy of your form. I have devised a different form for Rx's & complaints. I would love to combine them. I'm sure I could get some good ideas from yours, Thanks [email protected]

If Possible please Fax to Debbie @

Could I possibly get a copy of your triage form? We have been playing with different forms and haven't come up with anything that we really like yet.

I'm currently doing pediatric after hours triage in tallahassee fl. what i'm interested in is what approximately y'all are making out there. I'm feeling over stressed and undersupported. We cover a total of 4 docs in one practice and they pay us $5/h and 5 docs in the other practice and they pay us 7/h. But in truth we are really working for 2 different employers. could someone help me out here and let me know what this kind of job is really worth. Some of the girls I work with are just sooo happy to have this job that they'll martyr themselves to it
