I'm Taking my teas v test Jan 11 and will begin studying this Friday. I just finished getting my BS In health administrator ( double majored) so My last final is this Thursday. I'm pretty nervous and anxious but do you think studying 3-4 hours daily until then will adequately prepare me? Thanks all for the advice 😊

I'm going to comment without reading the entire thread on account of its looooooooong.

When I signed up to take the TEAS V I purchased the prep book and the two online practice tests. I'm really glad that I did that because after taking those, it showed me in EXACTLY which areas (in science and math for me) I should focus my studies prior to taking the TEAS V. It went specifically through every portion in which I needed to review. That helped me immensely and was worth the extra 100 bucks or so. Also, if you know all of the info in the prep book cold, you should do very well on the test.

I actually performed pretty well on it and due to this was accepted to nursing school while still finishing my final pre-requisite even though I didn't get to use those points to apply (since I wasn't finished with the course).

Now that I'm in nursing school we use ATI to prep for certain subjects, and it helps me for the same reason, it shows me my exact areas of weakness so that I can focus my studies.

I took the TEAS V just a few weeks ago. My combined score was a 94. I scored in the 90's in all sections, with the exception of science, in which I scored an 89. I posted a detailed outline of subjects covered on my version of the exam. No specific questions, mind you, rather the overall subjects I could remember. The exam is very challenging. Even if you are a natural test taker, I would highly suggest spending some time preparing for this exam.

The TEAS V is as much about critical thinking as it is about your knowledge base. You have to be able to apply what you know to examples. This is particularly true in the science portion of the exam. I am sure that is no accident, as these are the types of skills that will be vitally important to you in nursing school. Gone are the days of memorizing muscles. Hello to applying what you know to real world situations, and making decisions based on the factors at hand.

If I didn't score well on a section, can I just retake that section, or do I have to retake the whole test?

I took the TEAS 5 and scored a 86 percent and I believe overall it was a very fair test. Just get a TEAS 5 booklet and review for a month and you should be good to go. These were my scores science 87.5 reading 83 math 100 and writing 65
    Goodluck

Hi All. I'm new to this community. I will be taking the TEAS V test on March 23rd and I'm VERY nervous. This will be a new career path for me. I've been out of high school / college for almost 20 years. I was an English major in college and am in a career where very little math is used surprisingly. I'm just wondering if using the study guide alone will be enough for me to pass this exam. For those of you out there who were in a situation similar to mine, can you please give me some input? Did you feel ready for the exam after using only the study guide and practice tests or did you feel unprepared? Any information provided is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I graduated in 2000 with BS in Psychology and just decided to go back to school this year. I took TEAS V this past summer. I won't lie, it was difficult for me since I have been out of school for a long time. I studied just about every day for over a month and it was frustrating. You will probably do just fine on both english sections and math is doable but where I was thrown off was the science section. It was really hard! I passed the test but it took every ounce of energy to stay focused. My version was full of scientific reasoning questions and chemistry. I had a study guide, I would recommend it. Don't forget that you will have more questions on the real exam and pay attention to timing. Good luck.

I took the TEAS V today and scored an 85% composite score. I bought the ATI study manual and the two online practice assessments (you can buy a bundle with all of this on the ATI site) and they were a HUGE help - so if you're wondering if it's worth the money - YES, it definitely is. I read through and studied the entire study manual for 1 month, then took the practice tests in the book, reviewed what I missed after each, took the online practice tests and reviewed after each of them as well. I scored maybe and average of 76% between all 4 of the practice tests. I reviewed my weak topics up until the day before my test, got plenty of rest the night before, and scored even higher on the real thing. I was so happy with this score. If you study the right way and study hard it will pay off - Good luck!
