When to take TEAS

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Hello! I have two semesters before all pre req's are complete. This summer and fall '14. So when should I consider taking my TEAS? And should I start studying or refreshing for it now online? Thanks

I have to take the HESI, not the TEAS. However, the advice I would give you is, wait until you're done with A&P II. That's what I've been told. Are you applying for Spring 2015? That's what I'm doing and my school requires that I wait 30 days between taking the HESI, if I choose to retake it. I'm taking A&P II in a 6 week summer semester, so I'll be taking the HESI once in late July/Early August, and depending on what I get on it, I'll probably retake it in early/ mid September since my application for Spring 2015 is October 1st. I also have 2 more pre-reqs, which I'll finish in summer and fall. I would advise you to start studying as early as possible. Study online using the free resources and possibly invest in a study book.

I took the Teas 2 months before I applied. Just in case I needed to retake and needed 30 days in between. I agree with waiting until you do A&P II there is a lot of that on there and some from my Advanced Physiology class. I got the ATI and McGraw Hill practice tests to study. They worked fine.

Thank u for the replies. Sorry for the delayed thank you. Yes I'm gonna wait. But I'll get the study book and study it in pieces. Until its time to hit it hard. Looks like I have time.

Did you do well your first time or did you end up having to take it again? I'm taking it early May for a June 15th deadline. Hopefully I won't have to take it again, but I will have a little wiggle room.
