TEAS V

Nursing Students TEAS

Hello everyone,

The TEAS sticky is great for general TEAS questions, but I wanted to start a more specific TEAS thread for TEAS V.

For anyone who has taken both 4.0 and V, was there a big difference? If so what are the differences?

Is it okay to use the 4.0 study guide for V?

Did you take the online practice exams for both? Is it worth it to take the V practice exam if you have already taken 4.0 at least once.

If you took the V practice exams, how was it? Would you recommend it?

Please list anything else that is helpful.

Check your immunization records for the full series. I only got one of the shots when I was 10 so I'm doing the whole series now. A titer confirms your Hep B vaccine plus all the others, so I'd imagine that's what your school will require to prove the presence of antibodies.

As for the TEAS, you can buy an online practice exam from ATI testing. That will probably give you the best idea of how the test is formatted and what to expect. And keep an eye on the clock during the test! That's a huge factor. Good luck!

So Happy to say I passed the TEAS exam and I am scheduled to take my first class next month!!! Looks like I will be graduating in Dec of 2013. I know the next year and a half will be exciting and challenging but it is all worth it.

My advice for anyone that is about to take the exam, get the ATI book, you need to understand all the concepts within reading, science and math. Science is very difficult and on the actual exam, to me, read like stereo instructions. Honestly I would not have been able to do it without that book. While the online ATI tests were useful, the test was much harder. It did not read the same and if you do not totally understand the concepts you will not be able to recognize what they are asking you. I studied for 3 solid weeks about 8 hrs daily, with breaks and I still was not able to score in the 90's, I was close. I am not saying someone can't do it but I am just cautioning those to take this seriously. At my school I only had 2 tries to pass and then I would have to wait 4 months before I could take it again. Out of the 15 people that showed up to take the exam only 6 were new students and 1 woman just got up and left in the middle of the exam due to the difficulty of the exam.

FYI: Effective July 1st, 2012, TEAS test fee will increase to $60.

Hello All. I have purchased the teas v study guide and online practice exams. I felt pretty comfortable with the practice test in the book but the online exams seemed diff/harder and I scored much lower. Does anyone have any tips on what else to study? Especially for math...

For the Math section you have to know all the problems the ATI book has within it. If you can answer those questions easy then you will be fine. I went online and got brush up's through you-tube and then I also found worksheets online with an answer key for the type of math I was having a hard time with. Understand Polynomials, percent increase/ decrease, algebra basics, inequalities, fractions (mixed numbers, adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying), roman numerals, basic metric conversions, proportions.

I am trying to take TEAS Version V.

I have no idea how to prepare myself for it...what book I need?

is there place that gives this book for free? it would be great if someone could tell me where I can get review book for free...

Please help me and feel free to give advices about TEAS VERSION V test

I came across a tutoring service for TEAS V.

I took the test twice and keep getting a low score in reading section. I just want to get a review of the actual questions they are asking to see what I am answering correctly and incorrectly regarding the passages. Does anyone remember their answers for the passages? For instance, is there anyway to find out what the correct answers are for the passage questions? Thanks!!:)

Didn't you get a print out with what you missed? I got one and it even had the pages on the ATI book where I can review what I did wrong. I'm not retaking it though. Ended up choosing a school that doesn't require the TEAS. Good luck!

can you please help me with the reading portion of the teas? I fnd it so hard to comprehend. I scored a low average on the reading and it affected the rest of my score. Thanks.

Did you use the ATI book? They usually give you a print out of what you missed so you can go back and review it.

I just took the teas V and didn't score as well as I was hoping. I am so happy ati does give a list of subjects to focus on based on wrong questions... but I was wondering for anyone who has taking the test more than once, will I have the same test/questions again? Should I just focus on studying for the material that was on my test or am I going to get completely different questions when I retake it???
