Nursing Students TEAS

Has anyone taken the latest version, the TEAS V? My test is coming up April 6. I have the ATI version V study guide, and the McGraw Hill book.

What should I be sure to study when it comes to the latest version of the test?

Hello Starburstluvr, I have to take the TEAS V in 3 weeks, can you please help me and tell me how is it that you studied and what materials you used to study. I am really desperate and I need to pass this test. I bought the ATI Version V. Not sure if it is enough. I am not good in science or math, so I really need your help. PLZ I need your help

Hello Sltenbroeck and congratulations on your test score. Wow can you please let me know what materials to study on, PLZ I need your help I am really desperate and need to pass the TEAS V. I take it in 3 weeks, so please can you help me, All information would help just tell me please what to study so I won't waste time on things that are not going to be on the test. By the way I am not good in Science and Math, English I am ok.

The science portion is certainly bogus!!

I got a raw score of 87.5% on the science portion. I scored in the 99th percentile on that part. Just know your basic chemistry, biology and A&P. These are all things that will help you in NS anyway, and will be important parts of your knowledge base as a nurse. And don't just start trying to cram right before the test- get familiar with the topics well ahead of time. If you understand what they're asking, most of the questions are pretty straight forward.

I see that several people have mentioned that they have taken the practice exam. Can someone tell me where that exam is, if it is online. I have not purchased any of the study guides yet, was hoping I could utilize online materials as funds are tight these days. I am scheduled to take the TEAS V test.

Thanks!

The practice test that people are referring to can be purchased on the ATI website. Before i purchased mine i searched around for practice material and did not find anything that was realiable or worth spending time on. Your best bet is to buy the study manual from the website and, if you can, and purchase the practice exams too. I felt the study manual covered everything that i needed to know for the test. As for the practice exams, they help you see where you are at and where you need more practice (there's an actual score sheet at the end that tells you what you should study to improve), and they give you a feel for how the real test will be. I used both of these and got an 88.7%. I probably would have gotten like an 80% without either of them, so they help. Math was easy (100%), reading was ok (you really have to read into the question and answers though. very wordy), science you will need to study for, language was pretty easy. If you can't afford the manual then some school libraries, i've heard, carry it in their collection. If you feel unprepared then you should study far in advance because it's a pretty significant part of getting into a good school. Good luck!

HM2Doc,

Thanks for the information. I will look into either my school library for study guides, or purchase from the website. I have a school lined up, in fact this is going to be my 2nd degree. I need the TEAS V score for the application selection criteria for acceptance into a Nursing Degree Program. I took the TEAS IV last year, but now am required to take the TEAS V. Had an 83% on the IV, but have heard that the V is much more difficult. Am most concerned with the Science section, but not sure how much I will be able to really gain in the short time I have till I am scheduled to take the test.

Guess I will do whatever I can, and accept whatever I can do as my best!

Thanks again for the info!

Hi,

Buy the ATI Teas V study guide and take the practice exams over and over. Study the questions that you miss. It will probably be the same type questions each time, so study those more than anything else. You will probably do fine. If not, you can always take the test again after you study more.

Good luck!!

I took the TEAS V in January and signed up to take it again next month. Does anyone know if it will be the same exact test?!

I don't know the official answer to your question, but based on what I was told when I took my test, I would say the answer is no, not the same exact test. When the center was explaining the test before we began, he said that each person taking the test would have a slightly different test. In other words there must be a "bank" of questions and the test is generated to pull a certain number of questions for each category from each "bank". Therefore the same questions may, or may not be asked the next time you take the test.

When I took my TEAS exam there were two girls who were taking it for their second time and they both said that they had received the exact same test...but I have not retaken mine so I cannot personally verify it.

I'm gonna be taking the TEAS V at county in 2 weeks, does anyone have any feedback. Good tips, please....
