How many points is too many?

Hello there all. My name is Erin and I have an issue. I recently took the TEAS test . I have to be honest, I completely underestimated this exam. I had studied a basic GED study book to prepare for this test. I also have not done any basic classes. The Nursing program I am applying to you do basics in the program as well. So they are aware that we may not have taken Anatomy or some sciences. I got a 46.6%. I am embarrassed to say that. Truth is I was not prepared at all.the minimum for this program is 58.7%. So I have 3 weeks to study for this exam. I have the ATI study guide on its way and another book by Kaplan to study. My question here is am I being unrealistic here. Can I really go up 12 points? The advisor thinks that maybe I should enroll in medical assisting until I pass but that's not where my heart is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated .

you have to study diligently daily and put in the time and use the ati book as a guide. You could do further research on topics mentioned in the book if you feel like it is lacking. the online ati practice assessment could be bought online from ati and this is what most people recommend to do! it gives you the feeling of what the test may be like format wise, but the timer is the not same though. Each section will be timed accordingly to their respect and it goes downward.

You can totally make up the 12 points. My suggestion is to use the official ATI study guide. The method that worked for me - I took one of the practice tests in the back of the book, before studying, to see where I needed to focus my efforts. Then I read through/studied the book (pretty intensely for about 1 week), and took another practice test. At that point I felt confident and scheduled my exam, I got a 93.3 which put me in the 99th percentile. I'm telling you, it's a whole different story when you have the official ATI book to study with, totally narrows down what you have to learn. By the way, I hadn't even taken chem at that point, and was still able to ace the science portion, the book is that good.
