Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Since ATI provides no student assistance to interpret scores, let's help each other! If enough of us enter our complete TEAS scores, we'll be able to compare notes to see how we rank in different programs, what to aim for if your school requires a Program percentile rank rather than a series of scores, etc. There is another thread where people are sharing their scores, but it looks like most people are just sharing their Adjusted Individual Total Score or whatever applies to their particular school. By sharing all the info, we can help each other better.

Please copy the scores below and then change them to your own, in your post! thanks! Please make sure to check your Program Type! It's right under the name of the school where you took it, on your score sheet.

My school said they look for a 40 or 45 in each section, so I did above what they expected. They said I did really well, but this was terrible to me. It was also my first time taking this test. Not sure if I would like to retake it or not.

If I don't get into my program this Fall I will most likely take this again. I only studied the day before, and I didn't even bother with the English/Language Usage part. Got to the test and realized that I do not know how to properly use a semicolon LOL

I received the results from my second attempt yesterday.

Just finished the test 45 minutes ago, so here are some more results to throw in the pool:

Program Type: ADN

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 89.3%

Sad to be thought of as less than exemplary, but they just haven't gotten to know me ;-)

Any suggestions on preperation? I take it in 2 months.

There are a couple of things you can do to increase your chances of success. One is to absolutely get the TEAS V manual and do at least two online practice exams to get used to the format. If the time factor freaks you out do NOT compulsively watch the clock; the test is more important than the clock. Also, there are usually two answer choices that are easily eliminated; if you're stuck, dispense with those to give energy to one of the more logical choices. Just my $.02 worth ;-)

I second the suggestion of buying the study guide and taking the 2 online practice exams. The study guide also contains an addition 2 (paper) practice exams. If you do well on the practice tests, you should do well on the exam. Others have stated that the practice tests actually over-prepare you, and I agree.

I took my first practice exam with no studying or preparation of any kind. With minimal review, I boosted my initial practice score by 10 percentage points, then scored another 5 percentage points higher on the actual exam.

The exam is really not that difficult, and a little preparation goes a long way.

Good luck! :)
