Waiting...now I know what it feels like!

I've been reading this board for a while now, and seeing what others have gone through, I always thought that I would just forget about waiting for "the letter" and try to think of something else. No go. I wait for the mail every day and I know it's too early to look but I can't help it.

I do have a plan B if I don't get accepted to Kaiser, I'll apply to the next batch of schools according to location and due dates for application. There are still some programs in the west that I could apply to for Fall '06, or Jan '07. But the thoughts of starting over with the transcripts and the recommendation letters etc. is just overwhelming right now.

Well, just a few more weeks...maybe a week, and I'll know for sure. That's easily done considering I've been preparing for this for over 4 years.

I know what you mean, just try to keep yourself busy.

Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but doesn't get you anywhere.

Thanks for the advice. It's good. I saw that a few posters from Calif. on the board have already been sent their letters so I should hear by Tues or Wed at the latest since I'm in Idaho.

I feel for you. Hey, at least you get a letter from that school when you get accepted or not.

Well the waiting is over. I didn't make it. I did try to visualize getting rejected beforehand and it helped to go through that mental exercise. I can see a few positives about the whole thing (among the disappointment) and I will start on a new round of applications today.

Good luck to you guys going to Kaiser and any other program this year.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure you already know that Kaiser is extremely competitive due to the low tuition and fact that it is only 24 months long. I'm glad you're going to keep chugging and not let one rejection get you down. Personally I only got in to 2 of the 4 schools I applied to. Also, the application process is a pain, but less so when you've already done it once.

apaisRN, thanks for the upbeat take on this. Which schools are you accepted to? Do you start this Fall? I will apply to one more program for Fall '06 and then I'll have to cast about for programs that start Jan '07 (who's deadlines are not passed yet).
