Excited to see that everyone is in the same boat. My wife, 2 kids, and I are coming down from Texas. We have been told to stay north of the interstate in Jackson for housing and schools. They also only recommended private schools for my daughter who is in kindergarten. That might get pretty pricey! We would like to find a house to rent when we come down for orientation. I am bringing the family so we can look at housing, schools, daycare, and jobs for my wife. Have yall made any progress with financial aid?

Am I the only one that is single!!!?? I haven't done anything with financial aid due to the loan paper work expiring in either 60 or 90 days. Im going to be looking for an apt in nov.

We actually went to Jackson last weekend because I am a nurse as well and interviewed at Jackson Madison County General Hospital! My husband and I took this time to look at several places I had called about....we were looking to rent a home/condo as well. We were initially very discouraged with the options available. We looked at a few patio homes...very nice but not impressed with the area surrounding... all the homes we looked at were pretty much outdated and didn't sit in the best area of town. Finally we were directed towards an apartment complex called Creekside.....it is in North Jackson about 2 miles from Union. Very nice complex, office manager was super sweet and helpful and she informed us about half of the tenants are CRNA students at Union! Happy hunting to everyone

Is anyone worried about obtaining student loans in light of the recent economy woes? Especially with our down graded rating!? Augh why now?!

Has anyone heard anything bad about Union clinical sites? I heard Jackson General is sometimes "student hostile". CRNA, at my hospital graduated from Union. He says he will NEVER treat students the way he was treated at Jackson General. Makes me nervous about applying there. Also it has reputation of not being family friendly. They ship you out all over the state.

I have an interview Tuesday, may 15th. When's your interview? I'm extremely nervous!

Hey guys. Wow. It's been a year already. I remember myself this time last year. Extremely nervous! And it was all for nothing. The interview process at union is like no other. It is laid back, it's all about you. They want to get to know you as a person. Not how much you know about ballon pumps or caring for fresh open hearts. Think about it. What does a balloon pump have to do with putting someone to sleep and waking them up. It it two completely different lines of work. Just relax and be yourself. If you have any specific questions I will try by best to help. I was in your position and know exactly how you feel. JC

Thank you!! What questions do they ask? Do they want you to ask a question? Is it really going to be just 20 min?

Yeah, it wasn't that long. They have their shpill of questions. Come ready to ask some Q's of them. You'll be nervous, and that's ok, be a little confident too though.

JC really appreciate the mini pep talk, very glad to be invited to interview on 17th. That in itself is a big compliment and I am trying to maintain some perspective through this process. I have been watching this boad since you were applying so congrats on your accomplishments, I hope to be following along soon.

I am driving down on the 16th too see some friends in Nashville and check out the area a bit. I heard Medina Schools are very good, any thoughts or other decent public schools? I have a 4th & 6th grader and that would really help me narrow my wandering around town Good schools will be a big consideration in this decision. THX
