Nursing Students SRNA

Has anyone applied to UNC Charlotte?

Any advice on application process, interview process would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

I am graduating from UNC Charlotte's BSN program in May. The program has changed a lot since I began. Acceptance into the upper division nursing program is now strictly GPA based. They take your overall GPA and your science GPA for an average. I think they are also looking at hours of experience. They have gotten rid of the essay and interview portion of the application. Good Luck!!

Hey Liv

Which program are you talking about? I apologize, I did not specify which program. I am interested in the UNC Charlotte anesthesia program. I was just curious if anyone has any info. about the program.

oops sorry, I was talking about the undergraduate nursing program. I guess I should have looked more closely at the thread. :(

I don't know much about the CRNA program other then I've heard because Charlotte does not have a medical school the CRNA students get to be involved in a lot more cases during clinical rotations because they don't have anesthesiology students to compete with. This may be a pro to the UNC Charlotte program

Good luck!

Hey LIV,

Thanks, that is a pro. I am trying to get any info I can.

I was planning on applying to UNCC for next fall (until we moved several states away), which is affilitated with Carolinas Medical Center (CMC). I worked at CMC for 2 years and shadowed a CRNA there. Just FYI, CMC is a teaching hospital and I was told the CRNA students do compete with residents, esp regional anesthesia. From what I hear it is a great school and the students get plenty of experience.
