TCU interview invites

hey all,
i know tcu interviews in january, but has anyone received an invite to interview yet? just curious because i saw that someone (neurogeek ??) had an invite from twu (same interview schedule - january)....
just a crna: any thoughts, ideas, comments, advice?

talk to mary jane in the office. from what i hear, she is extremely organized and will go through your package any time you call her. i believe she is also the one who schedules the interviews, so she should be a good point of contact.

sorry, but i don't have the interview. it's gman. he received the notification and will interview in january. however, i spoke with mr. martin, head of the twu program, and he said that they will be interviewing all qualified applicants. so as long as you meet the minimum qualifications you'll get granted an interview there. i just sent my app to tcu this week so haven't heard a peep. i'm sure you will get interviews at both!

Yes, she is very organized and seems to know exactly where everything is when I call, email, or stop in to see her. I don't know how she does it.

Yes, she is very organized. I spoke with her yesterday & she was able to quickly tell me what my file was lacking (forgot to copy my CCRN to her!). One thing she told me is that they really want to see your CCRN score sheet, not just your card. I had heard this before from someone who just started their program. She said that when she interviewed they told her they were looking for CCRN scores > 100 correct. Whew! I made that one! Now I just have to get my GRE score up......

Not true. CCRN is pass/fail. Certainly 100 is better than 92, but there is not a higher cut-off requirement.

Ah, but I was at TCU this am and apparently the score does count. They want to see your score sheet as well as your card. They asked me what my score was, which is above 100 and they told me that was excellent & that they do consider this. They want to see how high your actual # correct was. You must score at least 87 on the current CCRN to pass, with 125 being the highest you can achieve. So yes folks, it's true that TCU does take your CCRN score into account.

I just wish TCU would disclose to everyone that the CCRN score card is desired by them and that a high grade may give a person an advantage in getting into the program.

Would be interesting to understand why this particular piece of information is handled so differently from all of the other selection/application criteria.

I don't think you will score any less than the max if you qualify as a CCRN. I do not know if having your actual score will put you higher than that, or if it's just their way of having a good idea how well you did. If you know your score it will probably suffice to share it with them. Also, you can get a copy of your score from AACN.

heee he heee... i was thinking the same thing.... "as long as it doesn't hurt me"... heee hee hee. are we all this competative by nature? :devil:

actually, tcu told me that i could submit a copy of my score the day i tested because it would be quicker than waiting for an official notice. i was pretty pleased with my score and was happy to turn it in.

granted the test is pass fail, but its always nice for the admission peeps to see if you "just barely passed" or passed with flying colors.... and to know which areas you are strong in.... which apparently for me is not neuro.:barf01:(ng - that is the "neuro smiley" with increased icp ~ just for you, my lame attempt at humor).

it feels great to have everything done and turned in!!!!!!!!! no more stress. plan is now to just enjoy my cruise next month, relax during the holidays, and to quote a wise sage, "the interviews will take care of themselves". ahhhhhhhh relief.

Lifelong, my dear pal, I'm sure that those mean ol' neuro questions didn't get u down too much! And LOVE the increased ICP guy! Now u know how I feel about anything cardiac :selfbonk:
