i wish i would have ended up and applied. i had everything but the HESI, i mean i did take it for another school and they only wanted math, grammar and reading, and i didnt know that TCU wanted allll the sections, so by the time i figured that out, i didnt have the money to take it again and i kind of didnt want too. lol. are yall transfer students or were you already at TCU, congrats to the both of you and good luck.

The OP is talking about the Nurse Anesthesia program at TCU.

Hey Neurogeek, are you ready to get this thing going? I was reading some of your old posts and the things you had going on in your life. All I can say is wow! I hope things are going much better for you this year.

I'm SO freakin' ready it's not funny! Yep, last year was the pits for sure. Sure you read that I was to start Aug '08 but was still in the hospital with pancreatitis. They found that I have divisum but after a total of over 67 days in the hospital, plus over a month of TPN (I'll always get cold chills when I see "NPO" on a pt's chart), and so on I've survived! Whoopeee! I manage it all with a low fat diet, NEVER take pain pills, but use reflexology for any pain. It's working so.....I'm totally pumped! I will be our class cheerleader for sure!!!:yeah:

Yep that is what I read. A month of TPN??? Oh man...I would go crazy!!! It must have been a real bummer not to get going last year. Did you already move to the Fort Worth Area? Do you have any recommendations on places to live?

I am from the FW area so already own a home here. We live in NE area, Keller. It's very nice, quiet, low crime. About 20 min from TCU. Upscale area but the condos and apts nearby are pretty reasonable from what I hear. Yep, I wasn't allowed to have ice chips or even chew gum during the whole TPN thing. I never realized that just the act of chewing stimulates pancreatic enzyme release...but I do now! Pancreatitis stinks!! Ha! So ready for class now though. Where r u moving from?

I don't think I could ever go without chewing. I am always chewing on gum, ice, food, straws...

I am moving from OKC...hence the sooner in my handle. I would like to get an apt close to TCU but everything looks very expensive. It would be nice to have something close where I could walk to school. I have heard that parking on campus is terrible, but really don't know that for sure. Have you heard anything about parking?

The apt's around TCU are high from what I've heard. Did u get the packet from TCU yet? There are brochures in it. There is a parking lot for us, a little far but walkable & I do believe there might be a shuttle? Not sure though.

Yes I got the packet...the one with the apt guide and stuff right? I agree that all the housing nearby is expensive. Do we have a specific lot for the crna program or is it for TCU in general?

Parking is only 2 blocks from the classroom, its a general lot, but does not even fill 1/2 up. Tons of parking, and a shuttle takes you to the building that runs ever 10 min's or so. Parking is a non-issue.

There are a ton of living opportunities. But I definitely recommend living as close to campus as possible. Loosing precious study time while driving is not the best option.
