How To Get Shadowing Experience

Does anyone have any tips on how I can shadow a CRNA? I don't know any personally and just started working at a new hospital so my contacts are limited. Is it appropriate to just go to the department and ask? Thanks in advance for any input or advice!

I looked up an old thread on this and the 2 responders said the same thing: call the anesthesia department or visit them. I just finished calling the hospital where I work and where I used to work, which connected me to the operator, who I then asked for the phone number of the anesthesia department.

The other thread also stated hospitals may be weary to allow people to shadow who don't work in the hospital for liability reasons.

I don't remember the thread but just google "allnurses shadow CRNA" and it should pop up.

Oh, it also stated you could ask your manager to set you up.

Thanks newmail! How'd it go when you called?

Haven't called today.I worked the night before, slept, then went to my unit council meeting, then drank while watching the NBA finals haha. Will do tomorrow.
