Curious about CRNA

I've been thinking about this profession recently after a "life" moment happened with me in the ICU last semester as a nursing student. Some stuff about me: I'm 22 years old, BSN student in my 3/5 semester graduating next year. I was the only student who got to rotate to the ICU in my clinical and taught me something important. I also volunteer in a sub-acute care unit if that helps since the staff there is so friendly.

I'm interested in being a CRNA but I have some questions :confused:

Do schools look at when you've completed CRNA prereqs (O-chem, physics,etc..) before you get a degree or consider post-bac work? If you take it before you graduate with a degree, will it help? I ask this because nursing school courses itself are already challenging as most nurses have experienced, and I'd like to concentrate on them if I can then focus on prereqs afterwards. This BSN will be my first BS degree. I haven't gotten the grades that I wanted in some prereqs though (Bs in pathophys, pharm and statistics) and I wasn't aware of the CRNA requirements until recently or else I would have known that I should have done better. Will this hinder me? What other factors will they look into? I understand that I'm still a student nurse but I'd like to see what I can do at this time to prepare myself in the long run.

Take the science classes after you earned your BSN. Schools will mostly look at your last 60 credit hours of school, so take a deep breath there. Get one year experience on critical care. Ace your GRE. earn your CCRN. Get your science class done. then apply. Good luck!

Does anyone know if CRNAs can go into teaching and education? I would like to be a CRNA and teach as well if that's possible? I've been told many times that I'm great with teaching and hope to develop this talent throughout my nursing career.

How many schools do applicants generally narrow down to their choice when applying?

Should I repeat statistics, pathophysiology, and pharmacology since I got a Bs on them?
