Can you provide a link with more information or direct me to where I can read about this please?

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly where you would find the information. I had a friend become a CRNA this way a few years ago and that's how a know about it. Maybe speaking to HR at your local VA hospital? Might be somewhere online if you searched for VA programs and nurses. Sorry I can't be of more help.

What's the most you would pay for a CRNA program, or how far into student loan debt would you go? 80k? 100k? There are several schools in which you would pay upwards of 125k. And this is excluding living expenses.

You think that rule of "don't take out more student loans than you would make in your first year of employment" applies here too? Or is that a rule a farce to begin with?

I'm currently in this program. Definitely a golden opportunity. Nothing beats an option with free tuition and full-time salary as a full-time student. Your costs are living expenses, moving, and different state licensures required for clinicals.

Here's the link to the program. You have to be a full-time Critical Care RN in the VA system for at least a year when you submit your application. Also, must have completed organic or biochem and statistics during Undergrad.

Honestly- graduate first and live with your parents and stack money. I did just this and had nearly 100K before I went off to school. That saved me from having to take 100-150K in loans. Instead I had less than 60 and I'm more than halfway thru paying them off. So save your money, that's all there is to it. Sure there are places that will give you money, but remember if something goes on and you don't make it thru crna school or worse yet you start somewhere and it's a toxic environment and you don't like it- you are stuck there until your contract is up. Honestly, I wouldn't ever take money up front but that's just me. Good luck.
