Hello everyone! Just wondering how many people were starting at Barry University in January 2009?

I might be; I've been accepted but I still have one more interview in Sept for which I've applied early decision.... so we'll see!

I also got accepted to the school but in september they will tell me if I got accep[ted in the nursing program. Are u doing the accelerated option?

Barbajo,

hey there! I was looking for people that were accepted in to Barry's CRNA program in January. Good luck to you as well, as far as nursing!!

Hey Tatiana,

What is the final word for the chemistry class for you guys. We had to do it in 7 weeks and it was almost unbearable and we let it be known. They were supposed to change it, did they?

they gave us the option to do the chem over the fall semester online, so that it's spread over a longer time

Hi. I have an interview at Barry University Sept.18th for the CRNA program class 2009. Any pointers on how I should prepare?

spdee1225,

Hi! The interview is pretty quick, they do not ask you specific critical care questions. They ask you about your critical care experience, why you want to be a CRNA, preparations you have made (that definately includes your financial preparation or plan), why Barry, and so forth. If there is anything on your file that is less than perfect, be prepared to answer why it isnt perfect. Dont worry about the critical care test. Hope that helps and good luck!! If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

The interview should be relatively relaxed, like mentioned above. However, if you mentioned in your application that you are "fully knowledgeable" in certain areas, or mention key words during the interview--be prepared to discuss them. You open the Swan door, you need to close it too.

The critical care exam should be simple, if you have basic chemistry, "true" critical care experience, and nursing common sense.

Think of it this way: IF you're selected an interview, obviously you have some promise. You've worked hard to get to this point, and the interview is your place to sell them that this is what you really want.

  • Don't be cocky, but answer questions with solid eye contact.
  • Get rid of your "umms".
  • Be very honest, and don't drag questions out.
  • Be prepared and ask questions. They want to know that you understand this is a major undertaking for the next 2.5 years.

Good luck...and if you get in make sure you review your chemistry.
