NP and DNP Information

Nursing Students NP Students

Hi there!

It has always been my dream to be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and I am planning to pursue those dreams, however, I am concerned of how the 2015 change to the DNP will affect my choices. I am looking for more information and explanations of what exactly this change would mean for someone who is looking into becoming a NP.

Thank you!

2015 is a recommendation, in no way a requirement.

However...most programs are going to DNP only, and that will limit you as schools are phasing out MSNs. Long story short, for you, it'll just be an extra year of schooling. So you'll finish in 2-3 years instead of 1-2 years.
