Getting Nervous!!
Hi there! I am a senior at an Oregon high school, graduating this June!! I am planning to attend Regis University this fall as a pre-nursing student. I qualified to be in their seamless progression program, which basically means as long as I get a C or better in all my pre-req classes I do not have to fill out a separate application for the School of Nursing. I understand that this is a great program, however I'm getting nervous about not making the grades. I have done well in high school and have a 3.7 GPA, I have taken 4 years or English, Math, and History and 3 years of science, which included Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy and Physiology. But I'm so nervous for college!! I am taking writing analytically, psychology, intro to stats, philosophical explorations, and chem for health related sci lecture/lab. I am most worried about the Chem part of all of it and not having the time to get the work done. My goal is to become an NNP, so I need to do well in all my courses. If you have any information or tips that would help as I go through school it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time! resipenn

NP and DNP Information
Hi there! It has always been my dream to be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and I am planning to pursue those dreams, however, I am concerned of how the 2015 change to the DNP will affect my choices. I am looking for more information and explanations of what exactly this change would mean for someone who is looking into becoming a NP. Thank you! resipenn

The Best Way About It!
Hi! I am a senior in High school and planning to attend Regis University in Denver, CO this fall majoring in Nursing. I have spent numerous hours in a hospital setting, volunteering, shadowing, attending different seminars they offer to high school students, and being a part of a semester long internship. I have had so many great opportunities to really invest myself in the hospital setting. Because of all these events I have experienced time in emergency, labor and delivery, Peds, the NICU, and medical/surgical floors. I have fallen in love with the NICU and my goal is to pursue a career as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. I have posted once to get information about whether it would be more beneficial for me to become a Neonatologist or a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and I have chosen to go the practitioner path! If any of you have any advice on just getting through nursing school, how to get a job in the NICU after, suggestions on classes or outside opportunities I should try to partake in, what steps I should take in order to get myself into the NICU world it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for your time! Resi

Need Advice!! STUDENT
Thank you for this imformation, the person I was talking to was not as knowledgeable on the subject as I thought! And to ChristineN, Yes I have spent many hours in a NICU and have also done three shadows in a NICU and a Nursery. I had done hours in other departments as well and always went back to the NICU as my number one choice. I also had a love for the PICU but I found it was a lot harder on me emotionally. I really appreciate all your input and suggestions!

Need Advice!! STUDENT
I was told that after I had finished school to become the Nurse Practitioner that I would only need to complete 2 more years of schooling, a residency and a fellowship. I was clearly told wrong, thank you for the input.

Need Advice!! STUDENT
Hi! I'm going to be attending Nursing school starting this fall, however, I am now second guessing the idea of being a nurse and working towards becoming a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or going the extra 2 years and becoming a Neonatologist. If you have any suggestions for me I would love to hear them!! I am completely torn at the moment and looking for advice from people in health professions rather than my friends and family. Thank you for your time!
