That's exactly how I feel now. Can't wait any longer lol Now, I also feel like Drexel is becoming my top pick because of the price, reputation and online FNP program. I guess the campus visits, course workload and finding preceptors is what scares me.

Workload....it's an msn so you know the workload is going to be rough anywhere you go. Finding preceptor...I was told by another student who is ahead of me that it all works out and while at times was stressful....it always worked out. Drexel also isn't the only place that has students finding their own sites. This is getting to be pretty normal. Remember...they are going to place some students so maybe you won't have to find your own!

Very very true! Thanks for helping to settle my nerves.

Hi Neuron! I meant that colleges outside of PA do not always serve PA students (or all states for that matter), and it seems one less issue to simply stay in-state. I thought it deceitful and certainly unethical to prompt students to apply, capture confidential information, and then tell the student whoops, we don't do your state.

Thank you for your input! I am fortunate in that I work with NPs whom have graduated from all the PA schools, and each has it pros and cons. Workload actually is different at different schools - I speak from personal experience and from their experience. My experience searching now is similar to my BSN experience. I was accepted into a school that was definitely a wrong fit; I subsequently applied and I was accepted to the right fit school, and it made all the difference. I guess there really is a lid for every pot :).
I understand what you mean now Kristin. I definitely think that is deceitful too.

I am waiting to hear from their WHNP program. Has anyone had an interview? I am unable to get anyone on the phone
I'm a current Drexel student. I didn't have an interview when I applied. Do they do interviews?
I learned when I got my RN that some had interviews...I didn't. I didn't know others had interviews until we were graduating.
So it's possible they do some interviews but I didn't have one.
Tuition was just raised for '13 - '14 and they are now only admitting for Fall entry, no more Spring entry.

Hi,
I am in my third quarter at Drexel (only three weeks left, thank you jesus) and it is a good program. Some instructors are better than others, but it takes a lot of work. Actually, more that I expected. The core courses are all papers:yuck:....and i much prefer tests. Next semester we FINALLY get to more science based courses. I applied last year on the spur of the moment and got in. I'm sure you all will too. As for picking your own preceptors, more and more schools are doing this, even in brick and mortar programs. I know that Pitt makes you do this. As for the campus visits, as an earlier poster said, beats the hell out of having to go to class. i think that online is actually a bit more difficult because a lot of it is self-directed. GL and let us know when you get your letters
Anyone receive notice from Drexel about decisions yet?
