Nursing Students ADN/BSN

Published

I'm currently in my last 2 semesters of my bachelors degree in biology. I originally planned on going to Physical Therapy school, but a career in nursing has caught my attention. Should I go back for a ADN or try for an ABSN. I would like to start working as soon as possible, but I would like to learn as much as I can. I've read that its impossible to work while in an ABSN program.

Specializes in Case Management, ICU, Telemetry.

How hard it is to work while going to school has less to do with whether it is an ADN or a BSN program and more to do with the program itself.

As far as whether to do an ADN or BSN in general... this is a conflict that most nurses have. A lot say an ADN is fine but in my experience you should definitely get a BSN. Nursing is already over saturated and you will need your resume to look as good as possible, I believe that a BSN helps a lot. Most hospitals prefer to hire nurses with a BSN.
