RN Bachelor's Degree

Nursing Students ADN/BSN

Published

I am going to graduate with my RN associate's degree in December, I'm debating whether to find a job right away or go transfer straight into the bachelor's program. I don't know if working right after to get the skills/experience would be more beneficial or not. Any advise?

Do both! I was in the same situation- Graduated last October. I needed to start working though, both for sanity and because I needed to pay my bills as a single person. So I secured a job before I graduated, while also applying for RN-BSN programs. I started working in December and got through orientation just in time to start school again this in August. Most RN-BSN programs in my area are made for working RNs, so I work full time and take 6 credits. Plus like mentioned before, the beauty of starting work first is that many hospitals pay for the BSN!

Good luck!
