new grad RN 11-7 shift, sleep suggestions?

New grad nurse here, starting out on the night shift soon.... 11-7 x5 days a week and every other weekend...

what are some sleep schedule suggestions from someone experienced with the night shift?

Just an FYI: The Nyquil ZZZ active ingredient is doxylamine. You can buy it in pill form at Walmart and Walgreens as a generic sleep aid (read the label) for around 20 cents a pill. It's basically an old-school anti-histamine that does NOT dry you up like benadryl. I take it only between consecutive nights of work (when I HAVE to sleep) and I have not developed a tolerance after seven years. No hangover. Helps me go to sleep and STAY asleep.
