by fayardj Aug 28, '11There are two public health jobs available in the area and I've always been interested in this sort of job but nervous about a job transfer. Anyone work or knows someone who works for Nurse Family Partnership (NFP)? It is a home visitor type of job requiring driving to homes. Any feedback would be appreciated.

- Sep 7, '11 by stephljudyI don't work for NFP, but I know a little about it. You would be visiting prenatal clients in their homes, so a home visiting job. I have heard excellent things about NFP!
- Oct 9, '11 by txbabyloverI work for NFP and love it. We do home visits with high risk first time moms from before 28 weeks pregnant til child is 2. Go to website and check us out. nursefamilypartnership.org. Had always been clinical hospital nurse and adapted well.
- Oct 10, '11 by bb0115Hello! I have an interview in my area for a NFP position on Wednesday. Can you provide any advice as to interview questions between the Director and myself to ask? I am extremely excited as this has been my most desired nursing position. I currently work in a hospital as a new grad and I am completely over stressed and both under and overwhelmed with the med/surg field. I did my final internship in the NICU when I was in school and did a lot of teaching with new mothers. Teaching is what I love and have always felt right and confident when doing! The Director has mentioned that if there any problems with my resume she would contact me (over a week ago I sent it), therefore I assume, the new grad "title" at this point is not really an issue (I am hoping). Any advice would be great appreciated! Thank you!!

We focus on the relationship and client's goals. We Look for nonjudgemental and open minded people who don't mind putting miles on their cars and sometimes working in high crime areas. Good luck. - Oct 12, '11 by bb0115Quote from txbabyloverEverything went great, I was offered a second interview. I am very excited, hope all goes well from here on out. Thank you!!!Hi Natalie

- Oct 18, '11 by anurseatlastQuote from GoECUCongrats on your new job! I work in a similar program working with pregnant and parenting teens in a home visitation program. It has its challenges (doesn't every job?) but I absolutely love it. I enjoy having time to really develop a relationship and to do teaching. On top of that, I get to play with babies! It is so rewarding to help these moms set goals and achieve things they never dreamed they could. I hope love it as well.I will start my new position on Oct 31! I'm very excited!

I am also starting my new job on Oct 31. I'll be doing maternal/child public health. I'm excited too start! - Oct 23, '11 by bb0115The second interview went well the other week. I'm still waiting for the final decision, this week definitely, they will inform me either way. I have never been this nervous before! Even while waiting for the current nursing position I have now! Maybe because I want it more than anything?.....Congrats to the others who start next week!!!
