New Grad - interview public health

Hello!

I am a recent graduate and have landed my first interview (in two days)! I have a BS in hospitality management and graduated with my ADN in May - and have no previous health care experience.

The position is in the women's clinic at our local health department and I will be interviewing in front of a panel. I am so excited and want to do my best to prepare in the short time I have.

Any interview tips? Questions I may be asked? Questions I should ask them?

Thank you in advance for your help!!

You will probably be asked typical Qs like strengths and weaknesses. Also, behavioral Qs seem to be popular. You should ask them about the orientation process, what your typical day will be like, nurse-patient ratio, what their preferred candidate is, and etc.

These threads helped me prepare for recent interviews:

I also used tips and sample Qs that were posted on John Hopkins website.

Be sure to practice answering these questions aloud so that they flow easily and make sure you have scenarios thought out that you can pull from to help answer behavioral Qs. I wrote some key words on a paper inside my notebook in case I got nervous and blanked. You might try that, or something like it, just in case.

Good Luck and be yourself!

Thank you so much! The links you gave me have been great.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
