Is anybody going to the APNA 29th Annual Conference in late October? It will be held at Lake Buena Vista in Orlando, FL. I am a Psych-NP student planning to attend and would like to save as much money as I can on hotel/lodging expenses. Any advice?

The hotel rate that is offered through the conference is fairly reasonable for $129/night, but for 4 days that amounts to $516, and with the conference registration fee, I'm anticipating the total cost of the whole trip to be $1000+! Any ideas about options around the area, or any hosts in the nursing community who are willing to come forward, please share.

Thank you!

I would love to as I used to work with one of the presenters! But unfortunately I won't be able to attend.

I am going and am so excited! I am blessed in that my hospital is paying my way. Otherwise I could never afford it. Good luck to you. I wish I had information that was helpful. Hope you can make it.

Does your employer reimburse any trainings? That's all I can think of. I am not going but REALLY wanted to. I cannot get reimbursement from my job because I am in management (if I were in the union there are union funds for this type of thing).

I live in CT and next year it will be local for me and I am definitely going !!

Enjoy yourself, looks like alot of great topics and a great venue!

Do you know I am going with 5 coworkers all of whom are in management? That seemed odd to me as they are never at the bed side. I'm grateful to be the staff nurse invited to go but I wish other staff nurses were included as our patients benefit most in that situation. (nothing against my managers)
