Wanna-be nursing student

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello!

So my long story short is that I'm a mother and alumni of a local university. I have my B.A in psychology and struggled getting that degree (new mom, baby blues, etc...) although I know this isn't an excuse and many others have managed better then I did and maintained a high GPA, I didn't. I have recently found my motivation and want to continue my education. I want to go into nursing school instead of continuing with any sort of psychology degree. I need some positivity and encouragement. Has any others struggled with GPA's and did what they could to continue on in a success story in nursing school? What did you do?

I guess my biggest hurtle is feeling like im starting over which I'm eager to do so! How do you manage starting with a disadvantage of a low GPA?

Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!

Hi,

What do you mean by a low GPA? Is it lower than 3.0? If so, contact your local schools to ask if they consider all of your credits for entrance, or just the credits they require. It is best to contact them to find out exactly what you need to do in order to qualify to be admitted into their school. There is no "one size fits all" with this issue. Fortunately, some institutions are more lenient than others.
