Two bachelors to Masters CNL Georgia Regents

I currently hold 2 bachelors in Psychology and another in philosophy. I started those degrees and I had every intention to finish what I started however As I've gotten older I have grown more fond of the nursing realm. My cumulative gpa is 3.12 my prereq gpa is around 3.5+ i have not taken any examinations like my GRE, TEAS, etc but I will be looking to do so at the start of fall semester to be on board with early admissions. All of my prereq courses are finished with the exception of a chemistry lab course which I aim to take at a local cc. Any advice for acceptance ? Are the last 60 hours looked at or the entire cumulative? Anyone know my likelihood? I believe I will start and finish anything I put my mind to but any recommendations for getting accepted into GEORGIA REGENTS MSN CNL is so appreciated! I would love to Travel nurse for a while and I'm determined to make this happen. Please advice suggestions .. Anyone in similar situation or have a success story please share! Thank you - Keena

PLEASE make sure to engage in some due diligence before committing time, energy and money into an entry-level (pre-licensure) MSN. In my part of the country, they just aren't getting jobs. They are losing out on entry-level jobs to generic BSNs (top preference), ADNs & ABSNs. That 'clinical nurse leader' designation is meaningless because it takes expertise to become a clinical leader. ELMSNs suffer by comparison to the (increasingly common) hospital MSN-prepared staff nurses in peer leadership roles.

Maybe your area is different, but I have listened to so many tales of woe - I feel obligated to pass along this warning.

Thank you for your response... As I already hold 2 bachelors I would like to get the masters and still practice as a floor nurse truthfully. It's a 16 month program that I have really given a lot of thought to... Hopefully if I obtain my listen sure and get some experience under my belt I can truly dive into nursing whether at my masters level or an accelerated bachelors so I'm weighing pros and cons but pros outweigh currently

The program has close to 100% employment rate post graduation; I am not sure where the previous poster obtained the information proving BSN prepared nurses are given employment preference over entry level MSN prepared nurses. I start this program in August, and after doing extensive and very thorough research, it was the best option for me. I have a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology and was originally pre-med. It seemed silly to use financial aid to pay for a second bachelor's, so I chose a masters program that would put me on the right track to eventually get my doctorate in acute care or anesthesia. Only you know what works with your circumstances and end goals. As far as I know, employment opportunities are plentiful for new graduates of the program.

Are you a Georgia Resident ?? I never applied but intend to apply out of state but maybe I can get a waiver for in state having been in foster care and living on the fl/ga line may be of benefit but I'm doubtful yet remaining hopeful. I am nervous about the debt but I so badly wish to gain acceptance ... My ultimate goal is to obtain my doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health. I tried to find the Facebook page for the program to no avail :( thanks for responding Mas91
