Teas Pencil vs Computer Version

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I was expecting my Teas test to be on computer but found out it is the pencil/paper version. It seems like there is more chance for error (I have had a scantron mismark-down-the-line nightmare before - yikes!) and requires more dilgence, takes longer, doesn't have the timer count down and doesn't come with the benefit of instant results. I am trying not to let this stress me out more as my test is 1 week away and there is nothing I can do about the format. I am just wondering if anyone else has taken the pencil version recently. How long do results take? Any other differences to keep in mind?

Also, how much scratch paper do you get? I am pretty sloppy and like spacious math scratch.

Thanks.

I have not taken the Teas yet. I am applying in Feb. to the program and I know I need to do excellent on the Teas. I am so scarred of this test! How bad is it???

The test isn't that bad. The math portion is basic arithmetic - adding, substracting, multiplication, division, percentages, some basic "find x" algebra, decimal conversions, converting fractions to decimals, etc. The reading comprehension can be a bit tricky. I took the test twice and didn't study the first time. I got 100% on the math but bombed the comprehension.

The second time I bought the NET Study Guide from ERIWorld. It helped to familiarize me with the what they are looking forward in the comprehension part. The and comprehension and math tests were very similiar to what was one the real tests. The practice test were helpful. I scored better the second time around.

Only the math and reading comprehension part counts toward your overall score. If you can go back to previous sections if you have time. So, you can breeze through the sections that don't count and spend more time on the sections that do count.

I took the pencil version. I prefer the pencil version to the computer version. It's easier to read the passages, and when you are answering the questions you can flip back to the passages. I'm not sure the computer test allows you to go back to previous screens to read the passes, or if you can go back to previous computer sections.

Well, good luck!!
